Hosting U.S. Representative Young Kim during her recent visit to Orange County Rescue Mission was an honor. We appreciated her expression of gratitude and acknowledgment of the Rescue Mission’s service in our community for the last 60 years. We especially enjoyed giving her and her staff a tour of our Village of Hope campus and her interactions with the students here.
It was also encouraging to hear the congresswoman’s perspective on homelessness. Representative Kim sees homelessness as more than a housing issue and is an advocate for addressing the underlying personal and family issues that often result in homelessness.
Opportunities to have face-to-face conversations with our representatives are few. This meeting was a privilege! I appreciate that we have a representative who understands the complexities of homelessness and has the heart to provide lasting help to those whom we have the privilege of serving.
