Donations Urgently Sought For OC Families In Need This Thanksgiving

The OC Rescue Mission is in critical need of Thanksgiving meals to feed families this year. Here’s how to help.

ORANGE COUNTY, CA — As Thanksgiving approaches, a local nonprofit sought the public’s help in addressing a critical need for food donations to feed countless families in need.

Now, Orange County Rescue Mission is calling upon the community for help providing food supplies for its 42nd annual Thanksgiving dinner.

Orange County Resume Mission will feed more than 280 homeless men, women and children living on their campuses during the dinner.

“Thanksgiving is a time of celebration, gratitude and time spent together with family and friends,” President of OCRM Bryan Crain said. “For many living at Village of Hope and our other campuses, they have never experienced a traditional Thanksgiving, and we want to ensure they can enjoy what truly makes this holiday so special.”

The OCRM is currently in dire need of:

  • Whole fresh or frozen turkeys.
  • Boxed or canned stuffing.
  • Canned Cranberries.
  • Canned fruits.
  • Frozen mixed vegetables, frozen green beans, frozen corn and frozen carrots.
  • Vegetable, chicken or beef stock.
  • White granulated and brown sugar.
  • Cream of chicken, cream of mushroom, cream of celery, and cream of broccoli soups.
  • Flavored coffee creamer.
  • Dry goods such as crackers, snack bars, pudding or Jell-O mix.

Anyone wishing to donate any of the items listed above may drop off donations at Orange County Rescue Mission’s Village of Hope, located at 1 Hope Dr. in Tustin.

Donations can also be ordered online and delivered to Village of Hope.

The donation warehouse is open every day from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, please visit: https://www.rescuemission.org/items/.
