ONE WEEK FROM TODAY the Orange County Rescue Mission is hosting its first annual Turkey Trot event, a 5K run/walk, on Thanksgiving morning, Thursday, November 27, 2014 from 8:00 am to 11:00 am, at the Orange County Rescue Mission’s Village of Hope in Tustin, California.
Participants will have the unique opportunity to walk or run side by side with formerly homeless individuals living at the Village of Hope, as well as other community members and community officials. This event will not only be a fun way to build a sense of community, but will help to raise funds and awareness for the needs of those less fortunate in our community.
The Turkey Trot OC is also an excellent way for families to show their children the importance of giving back during the holidays, and remind them to be thankful for all that they have.
