After losing his mother at the age of 3, Jesse sought relief from the life trauma he had experienced as a child by getting into drugs.
When he later started a family, Jesse put his addiction behind him, staying sober for 14 years. But after his brother passed away, his life began to spiral. Jesse started having panic attacks and eventually relapsed. During his 3-year relapse, Jesse lost everything, including his home, cars, and family.
When Jesse learned the woman he was with at the time had become pregnant, he knew things had to change. He went to a treatment center, got clean, and was determined to get his life back together for the sake of his family.
But because the mother also struggled with addiction, their newborn daughter was placed in foster care. They wanted to adopt her into another family as soon as possible.
Jesse set out to do everything he could to gain custody of his daughter. But he still had no place to live. On his last string of hope, he reached out to the Rescue Mission for help.
Due to the massive need we’ve been facing, there was no room for Jesse and his daughter at the time.
But then, God worked a miracle through YOUR generosity, and a spot opened up right before Jesse’s court date.
Jesse thought he had reached a dead end in his life. But today, your generosity has changed everything for him and his daughter! Your support allowed Jesse to take parenting classes, close his daughter’s custody case, grow stronger in addiction recovery, and earn his high school diploma.
He says, “I could’ve lost my daughter forever. There aren’t many programs that help single dads. I couldn’t have done it without the Rescue Mission.”
Jesse is now in the workforce and plans to move into transitional housing soon. Everything he needed to become a successful single parent, YOU helped make possible, and we cannot thank you enough!
