Village of Hope Manager

In Southern California, there aren’t many opportunities for experienced, high caliber professionals to work in a large, distinguished ministry. The Orange County Rescue Mission has been serving the Least, the Last, and the Lost in our community for over 50 years. The Rescue Mission is seeking an experienced Program Manager to direct and manage the Village of Hope daily operations. The most qualified candidate for this position will have previous program management experience. This position will direct all aspects of the Village of Hope programs, including case management, career services/placement, and the Parent & Child Enrichment Center at our beautiful main campus at the Village of Hope in Tustin and our other satellite locations within the Orange County area.

Job Duties (Other duties may be assigned):

  1. Oversees the daily operations and scheduling of the Village of Hope Program staff and ensures ongoing professional development for all direct reports.
  2. Ensures programmatic goals and deliverables are met on Village of Hope campus.
  3. Provides direction to Case Management with disciplinary actions on a case by case basis.
  4. Coordinates with department supervisors to ensure appropriate staffing throughout the campus.
  5. Works with outside organizations, affiliates and volunteers to provide valuable programs and events to benefit the student population.
  6. Meets and communicates regularly with direct supervisor regarding current program implementation, further program challenges, staff and facility updates, and budgetary issues.
  7. Conducts weekly Case Management meetings to coordinate schedules, discuss programmatic and student related issues and provide consultation/ direction to Case Management staff.
  8. Ensures that all program staff completes required database entries for students and program services, along with monthly deliverables.
  9. Develops and implements Village of Hope’s fiscal year budget and goals for PCE and Success Center in conjunction with supervisors; ensuring execution of goals and deliverables throughout the year.
  10. Collaborates with other OCRM departments to coordinate compassionate delivery of services e.g., OCRM Health Care Services, Double R Ranch, Hope Family Housing, etc.

These duties are not exclusive and with consideration of the job requirements and employee’s skills, this job description can be added to or taken away from at the discretion of the employee’s immediate supervisor.

 Minimum Qualifications:

  • A personal relationship with Jesus, good working knowledge of the Bible, involvement in a local Bible believing church, completed and signed OCEM employment application and Statement of Faith acknowledgment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Ministry. An educational exception may be considered in lieu of the Bachelor’s degree with specific related work experience and/or training.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a related field such as in a social work/counseling environment or within a ministry setting. Case Management experience with a caseload is required.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience supervising or managing a staff of 5 or more employees.
  • Experience in program implementation, policy management, budget planning and control, staff supervision and training.
  • Christ-centered behavior i.e., treating all people with dignity, respect, compassion, and integrity at all times.
  • Professional and detail oriented in administrative and organization skills.
  • Excellent communication skills in both verbal and written forms.
  • Ability to prioritize, follow directions/procedures, make efficient decisions, proactively analyze and solve problems, be detailed and organized.
  • Self-starter, flexible/adaptable, proactive problem solver, and cooperative to accommodate job demands.
  • Ability to interact with OCRM students, volunteers, visitors and staff (at all levels) in person or over the phone in a professional, positive, flexible, proactive, resourceful, confidential and efficient manner in a fast paced environment, sometimes under pressure.
  • Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet Explorer). Basic typing and knowledge of database entry for tracking records, reporting and maintenance is needed.
  • Dependable scheduled timely attendance.
  • OC rescue Mission is considered essential employment and will be required to work during community crisis and emergency disasters to provide care for the population we serve.
  • A valid California Driver’s License with acceptable driving record (in accordance with our insurance carrier, less than 2 MVR points).
