Although I prefer to focus on the positives and highlight the successful achievements, we all know that significant change comes hand-in-hand with hard work and set backs along the way. Each day at the Orange County Rescue Mission presents this ensemble of both triumph and struggle.

Graduation ceremonies are always a powerful commemoration while focusing on those triumphant individuals who have persevered through the journey of homelessness, addiction, abuse, dysfunction and adversity to healthy, self sufficiency.

I am always overwhelmed by the amount of support that gathers from our community to make this kind of radical transformation possible. But most importantly, it is the words from the graduates themselves that make this kind of effort all worth while.

Watch this video to hear a word from each of our summer graduates sharing about their journey from homelessness to an abundantly blessed life thanks to all of the Orange County Rescue Mission’s donors, volunteers and staff. ┬áHave a great Tuesday.
