Three years ago, Shelley got laid off from her job.
“No problem,” she figured. “I’ll just downsize and figure out a way to make less go further until I find another job.” But there were no jobs out there, despite the fact that she filled out dozens of applications — and went on countless interviews.

That would be stressful enough. But then she started having flashbacks of being continually molested as a child. On top of remembering being raped as a teenager. Financially broke, and now emotionally devastated, Shelley went looking for a place where she could find healing and make a fresh start. And she found it . . . at the Rescue Mission!

“I know it sounds funny . . . but I’m glad I’m here. At a Rescue Mission!” she chuckles. Thanks to your gifts to the Rescue Mission, we’ve been able to provide Shelley with daily meals and shelter so she can concentrate on her healing — and growing closer to God.

“I don’t know how He (God) is going to make this happen,” Shelley says. “But I’m listening to
Him.”
