Cynthia longed for a place where she and her young children could be safe. She had fled abuse only to find herself homeless, bouncing from place to place, trying to make food assistance stretch. “Sometimes I wouldn’t eat so that my kids could eat. I would just drink a lot of water.”

“I’ve been trying to find a safe place for me and my children where I can get back on my feet.”

Because you give to make the Rescue Mission possible, Cynthia and her children have stability and consistency. “My kids are safer here than they ever were out there,” says Cynthia. “There was an unknown of what was going to happen day to day when we were homeless. They don’t have to have the same fears, worries or insecurities here. It’s given my kids peace and hope.”
