Parent Child Enrichment Center Program Activities Coordinator

Oversee all school aged children and their educational programming at the Village of Hope. This position will help the PCE/VOH Manager coordinate the annual Summer to Remember (STR) program for the Village of Hope resident population of transitional kindergarten through eighth grade children that runs Monday through Friday from mid-May to mid/late August. The Program Activities Supervisor will plan “Learning Camp” curriculum for the morning portion of the STR program. The position will also work with the PCE Manager and Development department to develop a safe and fun afternoon summer camp program involving the surrounding local community. 

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree (BA)
  • Experience: 2-3 yrs of job related work experience.
  • Driving Requirements: Required to drive a company vehicle on behalf of the company.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Work with VOH Manager to prepare a draft for the development/grant writing department with the STR program plan and budget for staff and activities, including documentation of summer learning and activity plan, locations and contact info (pictures if needed), and staff needed for grant writing purposes.
  • Start planning STR Program in January 1-2 hours per week and increasing in work hours as needed through May but not surpass 28 hours per week unless approved in advance by PCE Manager and VOH Manager. 
  • Create a fully developed STR Program draft plan with PCR Manager/VOH Manager for consideration and approval by CMO, COO and Development department. 
  • Assist in STR staff recruitment once STR program is finalized and approved by CMO/COO and Development for funding purposes.  
  • Remain focused on children’s safety at all times at any/all field trips and while at the Village of Hope.
  • Provide individual program components considering the special needs of each child.
  • Under the direction of the PCE Manager, implement and model age appropriate disciplinary techniques.
  • Work with various VOH departments regarding any special needs accommodations required for learning different children.
  • Monitor and maintain the appearance, décor, and health learning environment of the PCE.
  • Monitor and maintain room arrangements to support the goals of the PCE.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding staff, families, and children at all times.
  • If needed, oversee the safety and security of all residents, staff, and the facility while on duty.
  • Communicate with manager regarding any challenges or difficulties as they arise.
  • Transport PCE children and/or staff as needed in OCRM passenger vans.
  • Build a strong rapport with Tustin School District and the staff; being a liaison of communication from the school to the parents.
