City of Tustin & OC Rescue Mission: Turning Red Tape into Red Carpet-

April 5, 2017

The Rescue Mission could not exist without the care and support of the local community. In recent years, we see a tremendous surge of community support, especially as we prepared to open our newest facility, the Tustin Veterans Outpost. I remember the day of the grand opening, and being able to witness homeless veterans come together with Tustin city officials, in their new home. Many influential members of the Tustin city council and community spoke of their heart for the project, and I was reminded of how important these relationships are to the cause of ending homelessness. Together, we create change, one life at a time.

Recently, Orange County Business Council hosted its 6th Annual Turning Red Tape Into Red Carpet Awards Reception. These awards honor the good work of local government agencies for projects and policies that cut through red tape and remove barriers to economic development. The City of Tustin was honored with the Public-Private Partnership Award for its partnership with Orange County Rescue Mission in the creation of the Tustin Veterans Outpost.

I am proud to see my city recognized for its community involvement, and the desire to address the needs of its community members. Orange County Rescue Mission is grateful to partner with the City of Tustin to serve the Least, Last, and Lost of our community!
