The Gift of Celebration

SHARE

Where we emphasize the wrap around services and holistic  aspects of our program at the Rescue Mission that absorb the greater part of the day to day work on our campuses, I also value the beauty of celebration. Where we intentionally pause to take a break from day in and day out responsibilities to bask in God’s blessing and goodness.

One of these aforementioned occasions took place this weekend as The Mission Viejo Saddleback Valley Elks hosted a Kids Carnival at the Rescue Mission on Saturday.

With more than 90 homeless children and their families finding a temporary home at the Village of Hope, we love to use this space to create happy memories. While correcting and redirecting dysfunctional behavior, we are able to instill hope with clean, sober fun.

Thank you to the Elks and about 60 of their volunteers for providing a fun-filled day with games and prizes, a Petting Zoo and a bounce house. I know the Village of Hope residents were raving about the BBQ lunch with cotton candy and snow cones being a huge hit.
