After wandering the streets of Orange County and struggling with drugs, alcohol and hopelessness for 30 years, David came to the Rescue Mission to seek help.
When we see the homeless like David on street corners, bus stops, off ramps and elsewhere, the temptation is to simply hand out our pocket change and be on our way, however, we have a better solution. To truly help the men, women and children that are suffering on the streets of our community, you can refer them to the program at the Orange County Rescue Mission, where we offer them a hand up, rather than a hand out.
At each of our campuses, we provide assistance in the areas of guidance, counseling, education, job training, shelter, food, clothing health care and independent living communities. When you give to the Rescue Mission, you are investing in life change for the homeless individuals you might otherwise simply give your spare change to.
We believe that life change can start with a meal. When you give $1.48, that buys one meal at for a man, woman or child staying at the Rescue Mission. When you provide the meal, we can provide the rest of the essentials an individual needs to get back up on their feet into independence and self-sufficiency.
The other good news is when you give a dollar today through the end of September, our generous match grant will match your gift, dollar for dollar!
You can buy a meal for $1.48 here.
