Each month we like to highlight an employee who exemplifies the mission, philosophy, and values of our organization. This month we are delighted to highlight Kaprice Vargas as our Employee of the Month.
Kaprice faithfully serves in our Parent and Child Enrichment Center as a Parenting Coach. She works hard to serve the children of Orange County Rescue Mission everyday with a warm smile and a joyful heart. Kaprice’s dedication and diligence keeps the Center running smoothly day after day. It is an honor to serve alongside of you, Kaprice!
Tell us a little about yourself.
My name is Kaprice Vargas. I grew up in Orange County. I worship and fellowship at The Dwelling Place, Huntington Beach. I enjoy hiking and spending quiet times by the beach.
How long have you worked at the Rescue Mission? How did you hear about the job opportunity?
It will be two years this coming June! I had moved to Tustin and in chatting with my roommates, the job opportunity seed was planted.
What do you love most about your job?
My greatest joy is derived from seeing our students and children flourish in God’s ways.
What is the hardest part of your job?
The hardest part of my job would be the bittersweet goodbyes to our graduates.
How have you grown since you began working at the Rescue Mission?
Working at a faith-based organization has reinforced my beliefs and the realization of my purpose – to serve our community.
What motivates you to keep going, even in the tough days?
My motivation is similar to what I love most about my job: it’s being a part of something bigger than us, which is serving Christ as people growing in relationship with Him.
What is your favorite verse?
My favorite verse is Matthew 6:33 – “Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added to you.”
