Today marks the beginning of the advent season, the journey toward the celebration of Christmas.
It also marks the beginning of the hustle and bustle of the holidays that we all know too well. From Thanksgiving, to Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, to Cyber Monday and so forth, the jump start into shopping, parties, church events, family gatherings and so much more begins flooding our calendars and begging for our attention.
This year, I want to invite you to make your holidays meaningful by gathering friends and family to alleviate pressure off of the typical Christmas rush and redirect your energy and resources toward something that will last much longer than wishlists and shopping stress.
Make a small adjustment today by spending your money where it matters.
Today is Cyber Monday and tomorrow will be Giving Tuesday. You can shop with one of our social enterprise partners to buy items from your friends and family’s wishlists while benefiting the homeless men, women and children at the Rescue Mission.
Shop with our partner Twosome Socks to buy a pair of men or women’s fashion socks and they will donate a pair to a man or woman at the Rescue Mission.
For the coffee lovers in your family, shop with Restoration Roasters to buy one of a kind quality coffee to provide jobs and funding for the men and women working towards employment and self sufficiency at the Rescue Mission.
