This past week and weekend rendered a very special experience for the women at the Village of Hope.
Where the Rescue Mission utilizes the Ransomed Heart Ministries bible study curriculum as a crucial element in the structure of our program, Stasi Eldredge brings lessons from a biblical perspective in her book Becoming Myself specifically for women.
As Jewel Loff, our Chief Program Officer, and her team carefully coordinated and orchestrated a conference centered around this curriculum, the women at the Village of Hope were granted 4 days of lessons, break out sessions, special activities and bonfires.
Becoming Myself embodies the lessons of letting go of your past in order to open yourself to the potential God has for you in the future. None of us can heal ourselves or become ourselves, by ourselves. But for everyone, especially those that have entered this Rescue Mission program, no one is alone in that process as we journey alongside one another as God restores us.
These intentional elements within the curriculum of the Rescue Mission program may not yield immediate changes, but they do bring long-lasting refinement. These essential pauses and moments of reflection are critical in the healing and restoration of each and every man, woman and child that participate in this transforming program.
I know that I have witnessed new faces illuminated with renewed hope, even just in passing around our campus. Thank you so much to Jewel and her staff and volunteers that poured into these valuable women. Thank you also to those that sponsored this event to make it extra special with donations from Woodhill Firewood, Chick-fil-A, Stater Brothers, Mary Kay and several others.
