The Health Care Clinics & Services Department consists of two New Life Mobile Medical Clinics and a fixed medical clinic, called CASA de SALUD. The Vice President of Programs works closely with the Director of Health Care Clinics and Services to strategically plan for the client services in the mobile vehicles and the fixed clinic, work with the community to establish best medical practices and to plan for the medical services of the Village of Hope.

Clients and Services

The homeless population needs a wide range of medical service provision, from general and preventive checkups to identification and maintenance of potentially fatal diseases and medical conditions. Therefore, services offered through the clinic range from well-baby and well-child checkups to provision of prescriptions to manage medical conditions such as high blood pressure and diabetes. Our medical clinics not only maintain good health through preventive care and physical and mental health counseling, but also serve to treat and/or identify potentially fatal conditions in the homeless population such as gang green, pneumonia and AIDS.

In addition to direct provision of medical services, we are able to help individuals and families locate and secure long-term medical care and assistance in obtaining medical insurance, as well as provide health education opportunities for preventive care and nutrition.

We presently provide loving, Christ-centered medical ministry to the following population segments: 15 percent African American, 3 percent Asian, 34 percent Caucasian, 47 percent Hispanic and 1 percent Native American. All of the population we serve is low-income and underserved. All services are provided free of charge to those in need without regard to race, age, religious orientation or any other factor of discrimination.                    Top
